Reaction conditions: 1.00 mmol p-nitrobenzaldehyde, 3.00 mmol vinyl acetate, 3.00 mmol i-PrOH, 3 mg iCALB, 0.20 mmol catalyst, 1 mL 1:2 ChCl/glycerol DES, 48 h, RT; Extraction with 3 × 2 mL 2-MTHF; Reduction of the organic phase phase with 2.0 mL MeOH, 6.00 mmol NaBH4, 1 h, 0°C to yield the reduced alcohol. Less than 1 wt% water is assumed in the reactive media.
